1954 – Hamilton Pre-Cast Stone Co.: Beginning as Hamilton Pre-Cast Stone Co., owner Demetrius (Mike) Rusnak started manufacturing patio stones and other concrete products for both retail and wholesale.

1968 – Barton Discount Centre: After selling Hamilton Pre-Cast Stone Co., Barton Discount Centre was formed. Mike began to build the business selling carpet, rugs, tiles, wallpaper and just about anything and everything he could get his hands on. Mike’s tireless energy and knack for knowing when to do the right thing at the right time made the company a success.

1990 – Focus on Home Improvement products: Working at the store from the tender age of 11, Mike’s grandson Aaron started taking over the day-to-day operation of the store. He began honing the product mix around home improvement items and Barton Discount Centre started to gain notoriety for delivering great value in this category.

2003 – BDC rebrand and focus on Kitchen, Bath and Flooring: With the focus shifted specifically to these three product categories, BDC was developing a successful reputation for quality service, selection and value – a goal that has always been a top priority for Mike.

2016 – Barton Bath + Floor: It is with great honour that we continue to evolve Mike’s vision as Barton Bath + Floor while providing best brands for less, with the same drive, dedication and passion he did, over 60 years ago!
